My philosophy regarding meal plans is fairly simple. Focus on organic fruits and vegetables, stick with low glycemic carbs, limit meats, make low fat choices, plenty of nuts, legumes and seeds and watch portion control. Most days I'm eating around 1,200 calories a day which seems sufficient at age 74 with a sedentary lifestyle.
Success rate is variable. I do best when juicing and eating fish. Happily substitute beans for other protein sources. Love those juicy summer veggies.
I'm not into baked goods and desserts for the most part.
I do enjoy cooking creatively and my downfall is cooking for company as I tend to embellish a bit more.
