NFL Sunday

I started the morning with Manchego cheese and tomato.

Lunch was a leftover lobster claw or two, leftover green beans and mushrooms and some wheat thins for carbs.

Dinner an avocado salad with tomato and a dozen steamed clams.

Saturday Night Special

Michael received a shipment of fresh lobsters and asked if I was up for cooking them. It actually turned out to be to live lobsters,, a dozen steamer clams and a quart of clam chowder. I baked a couple of russet potatoes in my crock pot and added a handful of green beans cooked with mushrooms for a five star meal. Next time Raley's has lobster tails on sale I am going to fix them!

My Eating Habits are Diverse and Unexpected

For the most part I do not follow a standardized plan for breakfasts that most people call breakfast. I will frequently eat leftovers from the night before.

While I generally try to follow the Diabetic diet model or Insulin Resistant plan of balancing carbs with proteins I would have to say I am not obsessive about that.

I have no food rules other than to avoid organ meats, for the most part, avoid processed foods, added sugars and starches and farm raised fish and eat fresh and local.

I pretty much eat what I want when I want it yet I also have a concern with meal costs.

Snacks are generally cheese, fresh fruit or nuts.

Today has not been an atypical day.

Breakfast:
2 slices of Raley's Sweet Prairie Bread, toasted and served with butter and homemade fresh plum jam
fresh plum and peach

Lunch:
Leftover cold, pan grilled flank steak
Mixed olives with cheese cubes

Afternoon snack:
3 fresh peaches with Greek Gods Honey Caramel Greek Yogurt

Dinner:
Most likely will be a salad with a quesadilla on the side and possibly some Ranch Style Black Beans with Jalapeno.

Sauteed sweet potatoes with onions

Add 2 Angus ball park Franks for protein.

Broiled Provolone on Pugliese

A French Press full of mellow coffee with my broiled cheese toast and I'm good to go.

I ate the crusty edges with butter and homemade grape jelly (the batch that tasted like honey).

  1.  Served the last bison patty as a quesadilla burger.
  2.  A Caesar Salad as my vegetable course with a leftover Garlic Parmesan Chicken Breast from last night.
Healthy and wholesome eating on my daily allotment of 1475 calories.
