I have already abandoned the Cabbage Soup Diet. I will continue to eat soup as a regular part of my daily feast but I've basically gone back to Insulin Resistance eating with portion control and an increased activity level.

Cabbage Soup Diet: Day One

All the fruit I want spread over the day and Cabbage Soup for dinner.



  1. 6 Conadria (dried) figs - 26 carbs
  2. 5 mandarin oranges - 25 carbs
  3. coffee
  4. 10 oz Carrot, Celery, Tomato Juice by mistake (but it was a good way to get the day started) - negligible carbs
  5. Cabbage Soup  - negligible carbs
  6. Fuji Apple and Fennel juice - 25 and 17 carbs
Missed lunch today since I was out and about and the soup wasn't yet made. I'm figuring my total calories at 500+ at most (4 calories/carb). Tomorrow's veggies will come up even less but I will have 2 servings of the soup (lunch and dinner).

Weight Control

At my new patient visit with my doctor this morning I weighed in at my 2nd highest weight ever. I don't have to tell you how this made me feel. I won't ignore the fact that something needs to be done about it.


I don't think the problem with my weight is my basic diet itself. My choices are good but portion control isn't always what it should be and I eat out way too often. The main culprit is lack of activity however. I'm not sure the changes I am about to implement will show up here on these pages.


From time to time I will report on my progress. Perhaps a goal vs actual chart by month.
